blueprint (noun): an original description of a plan or idea that explains how it is expected to work

A blueprint has multiple layers, usually identifying different ‘systems’ for the overall machine. A blueprint for a building  might show the framing on one layer, the plumbing on another layer, the electrical on yet another, and so on.

And like a building, there are different systems, or layers to what makes up a whole human being.
